Leeds fans react on Twitter to academy duo starting in midfield v Aston Villa
By Dominic Toner
Leeds manager Garry Monk has chosen youngster Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira in his starting XI against Aston Villa – and the club’s supporters are concerned that Eunan O’Kane is absent through injury.
The Whites host Steve Bruce’s Villa on Saturday in the Championship and will hope to retain their place in the play-off positions.
Senior midfielder Eunan O’Kane has been ruled out of the Villa match and leaves Leeds with two young options in front of the defence.
Phillips, 20, has been a regular feature in the starting line-up this season and is the more experience of the pair.
Vieira, 18, has completed 90 minutes in the league on just two occasions this season and will be tested against an in-form Villa, who are undefeated in their last seven games.

O’Kane was substituted off in the first-half during the club’s midweek EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool and leave Monk with limited options in midfield.
Liam Bridcutt is still ruled out through injury and the senior central midfielder has been a big loss.
Phillips has established himself as a crucial player in Bridgett’s absence and youngster Vieira has a great opportunity against Villa.
In other Leeds team news, the club’s supporters have urged Monk to start a goal-shy attacker against Villa.
