Liam Bridcutt is reportedly set to have a medical at Leeds after agreeing personal terms – and Whites fans are delighted that the deal is finally close to completion.
Yorkshire evening post writer Phil Hay claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday afternoon that the Sunderland defensive midfielder was set to finalise a move to Elland Road.
Bingo – Liam Bridcutt to undergo a medical with Leeds United tonight. He's accepted a two-year contract. #lufc

Bridcutt joined Leeds on loan last November from the Black Cats under then manager Steve Evans until the end of the season.
He impressed the fans and the club during his stay at Elland Road and manager Garry Monk has been working on a deal to bring him back to the club permanently.
Fans of the Yorkshire giants are delighted that the long-drawn out saga now looks set to be finalised although some fans of the club voiced their concern about why the former Brighton player was only being given a two-year deal.
Here are a selection of the supporters’ messages on Twitter:
Delighted the Bridcutt deal is close. He's been a noticeable absence in our midfield in opening games. There's a gap he can plug for #LUFC

Happy with the Bridcutt deal. There's no doubt he adds a bit of steel to that midfield which is badly needed #LUFC

Think it's piss poor that we couldn't just give Bridcutt a 3 year deal. Probably got an extension after X appearances clause.. #lufc

Monk is looking to strengthen his side, which has suffered two defeats in their opening two games of the Championship season.
Monk has made eight signings so far, bringing in Rob Green, Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko, Kemar Roofe, Marcus Antonsson, Luke Ayling and Pablo Hernandez.
