Leeds fans react on Twitter to potential Bamba reunion

By Matt Farr

Leeds and Cardiff are set to go head-to-head in the Championship on Saturday, which means a potential return to Elland Road for Sol Bamba – and fans on Twitter are ready to welcome him back.

The 32-year-old was released by Leeds at the start of the season, after a spending a year-and-a-half with the club, and serving as club captain.

He initially moved to Elland Road on loan from Italian outfit Palermo in January 2015, but made the move permanent the following summer.

He made 49 appearances for the club, scoring five goals, before joining Cardiff on a free transfer.

Ahead of Bamba’s potential reunion with his former team-mates, Leeds fans took to social media to share their views on Bamba from his time at Elland Road.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Despite all the good things Leeds fans have to say about Bamba, they will be hoping that the defender does not put in a very good display against their side on Saturday.

Leeds’ promotion bid took a minor hit with defeat to Huddersfield last time out, and Garry Monk’s side will want to make amends with a victory over Cardiff.

They are currently fifth in the Championship, five points clear of next-best Sheffield Wednesday; though they can gain valuable ground on rivals Reading and Huddersfield with a win.

In other Leeds news, Leeds must resist the temptation to offer a new contract to this first-teamer in the summer.
