Andrea Radrizzani posted a Twitter rallying call ahead of Leeds' final match of the season - and supporters besieged him with messages urging him to tie Garry Monk down to a long-term contract.

The Elland Road joint-owner is set for contract talks with Monk in the immediate aftermath of Sunday's Championship clash against Wigan at the DW Stadium.

The manager, 38, has said he is out of contract at the end of the campaign and supporters are concerned at reports that the club are considering alternative managerial from overseas.

Radrizzani took to his personal Twitter account on Saturday to reveal there has been a "good atmosphere" among the players at their Thorp Arch training headquarters as final preparations are made for Sunday's match.

He urged the team to finish what has been a generally uplifting campaign in style as he thanked fans for their support.

The reaction from supporters was almost universally the same, as they besieged the joint-owner with messages urging him to sign up Monk to a new deal.
