'Horrific', 'Embarrassed to be a Leeds fan' – Fans react after club revelation v Bristol City
Leeds fans took to Twitter to react about the away ticket prices for the Championship clash against Bristol City on Sunday.
Bristol Post reporter Aidan McCartney penned a column that led with the headline “Leeds United are ripping off Bristol City and Championship fans” after it emerged that away fans would have to pay £42 on the day to watch the game.
That’s £5 more than the advance price ticket and more than the Premier League cap of £30 for away games.
McCartney claimed that the result was that Bristol City had sold “less than 500 tickets” for their trip to Elland Road.
He went on to say that popular Leeds site WACCOE was against the pricing too as they want to see the away side sold out.
And most Leeds fans agree with Bristol City fans seemingly voting with their feet for the game on Sunday that will be televised on Sky Sports.
However, not all fans feel the same way with one Leeds fan saying it happens to them as well and that he has no sympathy.
Here is a selection of the best reactions from Bristol City fans ahead of the game:
The pricing is horrific but please also check what the clubs charge Leeds fans too. It's not just lufc

Ridiculous prices I’m embarrassed to be a Leeds fan

The A+ would only come in to effect for a Play Off game……how many Away fans actually buy on the day? Probably none…..look at how much #lufc fans have paid at Away games last 5yrs. No sympathy at all.

Category A+ has never been used & is under review. A shoddy, shrill piece. but, clicks, eh?

£42 on the day, which In 99% of games is moot.
£37 still expensive but it doesn’t help that arguments are skewed by people spouting on the day prices which don’t apply.
Leeds fans pay through the nose at lots of grounds too, needs to be capped throughout for me.

What’s your thoughts on Bristol city charging Leeds fans £32 earlier in the season?
— Mark Mason (@Markmas0n) February 15, 2018
Couple of pointers- 1) how many Bristol city fans would turn up on the day (zero given the distance) and 2) where is the support for Leeds fans on this- we've been killed by ALL football league clubs over the years and revived no support at all for our cause.

Whatever the context, £42 is disgraceful and I’m embarrassed

Also not right but we've been suffering this home and away for years now and nobody battered an eyelash.
