Leeds have been linked with a move for Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom as Paul Heckingbottom looks to rebuild his squad in the summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Heckingbottom is set to raid his former club to nab the defender who will be available on a free transfer in the summer with his contract expiring in June.

Heckingbottom signed him on a two-year deal from Barnet and the player has not agreed an extension.

He is highly rated by Heckingbottom and interestingly the report claims that this deal is being driven by the manager, not head of recruitment Victor Orta.

It is also said that he came close to a Premier League move in August but moves fell through despite the defender completing a medical for Huddersfield.

Swansea also wanted him but couldn’t get a deal through before the deadline.

However, fans are in two minds over the player.

Some fans point to the fact that he’s free and almost signed for a Premier League side, as well as the fact that he’s versatile and can play on either the left or the right.

However, others aren’t convinced and say it shows a complete lack of ambition.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to the report:
