Midfielder Clarke Oduor has signed a professional contract with the club – and fans on Twitter hope he can make as big an impact as Ronaldo Vieira.

The Championship club announced on their official website that the 17-year-old midfielder has penned an 18-month contract that ties him to Elland Road until the summer of 2018.

The deal includes an option for Leeds to extend the deal for a further year until June 2019.

Oduor has committed his future to Leeds after progressing through the ranks of a club that has an excellent reputation for producing young talent.

Recent academy graduates Vieira, Kalvin Phillips, Lewie Coyle and Tyler Denton have all progressed into the first team, following their predecessors Charlie Taylor, Sam Byram and Lewis Cook.

Leeds fans are hoping Oduor can go on to have the same impact as his illustrious predecessors.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Oduor has been a regular for Leeds’ Under-18s and Under-23s this campaign, making a combined total of 13 appearances for the two age-group sides.

Leeds manager Garry Monk has demonstrated his great commitment to youth this season by handing so many chances to emerging stars from the club’s academy.

Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips are two midfielders who have forced their way into the first-team, while fellow youngsters Lewie Coyle and Tyler Denton have also made a good impression.
