Leeds fans react on Twitter to Wagner manager of the month award

By Harvey Byrne

Leeds fans on Twitter have slammed Huddersfield boss David Wagner after he won the manager of the month award on Friday morning.

The 45-year-old Terriers manager was named for the award for March after leading his side to five victories and one draw in six league matches in February.

Of those wins, includes a 2-1 victory over Leeds on 5 February at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The German boss was sent off and received a ban after an altercation with Whites manager Garry Monk and Leeds supporters noticeable still hold some anger towards Wagner.

Some sections of the fan base on social media shared that his behaviour should not have been awarded, while others pointed out that the award is a curse.

Leeds are currently sat in fourth place in the Championship table with Huddersfield placed directly above them in third and three points ahead.

The Terriers do still boast a game in hand, but Whites fans will clearly be delighted if their team finishes above Huddersfield once the season reaches it’s end.
