'Needs a P45', 'Garbage' - Leeds fans destroy senior player for display v Leicester
By Danny Wright
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to destroy goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald for his performance in the 3-1 loss to Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Whites were dumped out of the League Cup and missed the chance to reach the quarter finals for a second year in a row after letting slip of a 26th minute lead.
Not long after Pablo Hernandez put Leeds a goal to the good, Wiedwald, 27, and his defence were completely caught out by the Premier League side’s attack and conceded a sloppy goal to Kelechi Iheanacho, which proved to be a turning point in the game as the Foxes went on to win.
Wiedwald was returning to Thomas Christiansen’s starting line-up for the first time since he was axed earlier this month due to a series a poor displays.
Andy Lonergan had featured in the past two Championship fixtures, keeping a clean sheet on Saturday in an impressive 3-0 win over Bristol City.

However Christiansen decided to recall the German shot-stopper on Tuesday night, and that decision seemed to have backfired after a poor performance.
Leeds fans on Twitter were not very sympathetic of the ex-Werder Bremen stopper either, with one saying that the senior player “needs a P45”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Why did we get rid of green again?

That keeper needs selling in January. He’s absolute garbage

How did we end up with the worst keeper to come out of Germany

who takes the flack for replacing Green with him then? Absolute shocking decision

The idea was to give Wiedwald time out of the limelight so bringing him back to face prem opposition was absolutely the wrong move #lufc

Great stuff. The state of Wiedwald and Jansson is bewildering. Hopefully it doesn’t matter but lots of injuries worry me.

Some positives to take….Wiedwald proves himself to be a liability twice so hopefully will get binned off in January. Fresh for Friday etc

True enough – no argument. But Wiedwald needs a P45 and we need a decent replacement.

Wiedwald has made 13 appearances across all competitions this season, conceding 15 goals and keep six clean sheets.
