Leeds United fans want to see Ethan Ampadu return to central defence after his latest performance from midfield against Burnley.

The West Yorkshire giants were beaten 1-0 by the Clarets last Saturday (14 September), and the Wales international played in the middle of the park.

The club captain has played every game in the defensive midfield position for Leeds this season, which is a change from the previous campaign.

Dating back to his Chelsea days, Ampadu has always been versatile enough to play both centre-back and central midfield.

Throughout his career, he has played 112 times as a central defender in comparison to 80 appearances as a defensive midfielder.

However, after Leeds failed to win for the third time this season in the Championship fans are starting to call for change.

Leeds United fans want Ethan Ampadu to change positions moving forward

Ampadu might have played the entire season in midfield, but fans would like to see him moved further back for their next game, while some have questioned his form generally.
