'Rotten', 'Woeful' - Leeds fans tear into mainstay for performance in loss v Derby
By Danny Wright
Leeds United fans on Twitter have torn into Luke Ayling for his performance in the 2-1 loss to Derby at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
Ayling, 26, was in poor form as the Whites’ dire run of results continued, with the right-back being helpless to stop Derby from coming from a goal behind to score twice in the second-half to win.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored early on for Thomas Christiansen’s side as they controlled a large portion of the opening hour.
However Sam Winnall struck twice, eight minutes apart in the 72nd and 80th minutes to give the Rams a much-needed three points that saw them leapfrog Leeds in the Championship standings.
Many Whites fans saw Ayling as a bystander in the clash, but others have turned onto Christiansen, saying that the Danish boss must be sacked for the way that he has managed players like the right-back, suggesting that there is something “rotten” behind the scenes.

Luke Ayling nowhere to be seen down that right hand side again, happening an awful lot at the minute

Notice how under TC players don’t care. He has no idea how to motivate them. Roofe, lasogga, Ayling don’t care. Shambles. Sack him. #lufc

How can Ayling and Jannson be poor reflections of last year? I think something is rotten behind the scenes. TC gotta go for me #lufc

Ayling has been ever-present for Leeds this season, being a mainstay of Christiansen’s starting line-up.
He has made 19 appearances across all competitions, playing every minute of every Championship game, while even wearing the captain’s armband on the odd occasion.
The defender, like many other Whites first-teamers, has not long signed a new contract.
