Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to urge manager Thomas Christiansen to start Stuart Dallas against Middlesbrough this weekend.

Dallas, 26, has been forced to the fringes of the first-team this season and is a rare sight in the starting line-up having only been named on the teamsheet two times in the Championship.

However he played a starring role for the Northern Ireland during the international break when they came ever so close to qualifying for the World Cup in Russia next year.

The Leeds winger was in top form as his side narrowly lost 1-0 to Switzerland over two legs, in a play-off that was decided by a majorly controversial penalty decision in the first-leg.

Whites fans firmly believe that Dallas’ drive and passion is something that is currently lacking from the starting line-up and want Christiansen to get him back into the side, starting with Saturday’s clash against Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough at Elland Road.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Dallas has made 15 appearances across all competitions this season with almost the entirety of his game time coming off the bench.

He has scored two goals in that time and with United in such a rut at the moment, Christiansen may be forced into changing things up when Monk returns to Elland Road this weekend with his Boro side that are flying high after a shaky start.

In other Leeds United news, David Prutton has aimed a subtle dig at Monk ahead of Saturday’s action.
