Leeds hit by 'devastating blow' as injury expert shares Bamford update
Leeds have suffered a “devastating” blow with Patrick Bamford set to miss another five weeks of action.
That’s according to former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid an update on the striker’s fitness.
Injury expert and Football Insider pundit Ben Dinnery has predicted Bamford, 28, will be out of action for another five weeks.
The hitman featured in all 38 of Leeds’ league matches last term and, remarkably, started all but one.
However, injury issues mean he has only been able to feature in five league games so far this season.
McLeish insists Bamford was always going to be “burned out” after playing so much football over the past few seasons.

“This is something we discussed last year, we knew this would happen,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We mentioned Bamford could be burned out by playing so much football.
“He played almost every game. In my experience, you get a feeling about these things.
“Bamford has been playing every game season in, season out, and now he can’t get that fitness back.
“It’s not a surprise, his body needs a rest. Leeds need to find a formula that can allow Bamford to play.
“Losing him for another five weeks is a devastating blow.”
Leeds drew 1-1 with Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, leaving them 15th in the Premier League.
The Whites sit three points away from the relegation zone with 27 games to play.
