Football Insider rates the Leeds players as they drew 1-1 against Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Friday night.
Rob Green 8 – Not hugely troubled throughout the clash, made a number of saves and was unlucky to finally concede. Solid display.
Luke Ayling 5 – Battled throughout against Yoann Gouffran in what was an equal fight with the French winger. Offered little going forward, almost conceded with a poor header back to Green in second half but for Jansson to save him.
Pontus Jansson 8 – Number of important blocks to deny the Toon’s attacking midfielders to find Aleksander Mitrovic. Heart on the sleeve as always, stopped certain goal after Ayling lapse in concentration.
Kyle Bartley 8 – A leader at the heart of the Leeds defence. Rallied his side on multiple occasions, made numerous blocks and marshalled Aleksandar Mitrovic well. Top performance.
Gaetano Berardi 6 – Combative display once again, proved why Charlie Taylor is left on the bench for a second successive match. Kept Ritchie quiet, to an extent.
Liam Bridcutt 7 – Returned from injury to shine in midfield, putting his body about and making multiple interceptions. Kept the ball well, kept Ayoze Perez quiet.
Kalvin Phillips 4 – Struggled to get involved throughout the match, good positioning but failed to have an impact whatsoever. Switched off from a corner, as Mbemba forced Green into a good save.
Kemar Roofe 6 – Drifted away from the right flank and caused problems, but failed to provide a worthwhile blow. Moving away from the right wing also left a gap when the Toon retrieved possession.
Pablo Hernandez 5 – Kept Jonjo Shelvey under control well, but did little himself to in the final third for the Yorkshire giants.
Alfonso Pedraza 7 – Unlucky not to find the back of the net early on with a superb strike from outside the box that thundered against the bar.
Chris Wood 7 – Isolated up top throughout the match, before scoring a 96th-minute equaliser to take his tally to 28 goals for the season.
Hadi Sacko (On for Pedraza, 61 mins)
Souleymane Doukara (On for Bridcutt, 76 mins)
Charlie Taylor (On for Berardi, 78 mins)
