Leeds are sensationally set to sign Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza in a loan-to-buy deal, according to a report.
Spanish publication AS claim the Championship giants have wrapped up the purchase of the left-winger, 20, initially on loan until the end of the season.
It is said that Pedraza “leaves for Leeds” after it was agreed that his season-long loan to Spanish second-tier outfit Lugo will be cut short to allow him to head to England.
AS report that there is an agreement in place for Leeds to take Pedraza on loan with an option to buy him permanently for £8.5million if they are promoted to the Premier League.
The Spain Under-21 international is in line to return to Villarreal in the summer if Garry Monk’s side are unsuccessful in ending their 13-year spell outside of the top flight.
Pedraza played his last game for Lugo on Sunday when they drew 1-1 against Real Zaragoza.
The youngster has had an impressive season in La Liga 2, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 22 league appearances.
Leeds’ reported Pedraza agreement comes after the Mail report that the Yorkshire giants are in line to to sign Ashley Fletcher from West Ham in the next 48 hours.
It is said that Leeds “expect” the deal to go through after Dimitri Payet’s move from West Ham to Marseille on Sunday freed up funds for Slaven Bilic to sign Scott Hogan from Brentford after holding extensive talks in recent weeks.
This will allow Manchester United academy product Fletcher to leave east London for the remainder of the season.
In other Leeds news, there has been a finale in a major deal after a £7million Leeds bid was tabled.
