The January transfer window is officially open so Football Insider takes a look at which three players Leeds are most likely to buy over the next month.

Pontus Jansson

The centre-back has been nothing short of excellent since joining on loan from Torino in the summer and he’s already being tipped as the first player to sign for the club in January. Leeds simply can’t afford to let him go and he will be absolutely essential to their play-off hopes. Jansson has already made 18 Championship appearances this season and scored two vital goals against Norwich and Aston Villa.

Kyle Bartley

Alongside Jansson, Bartley has formed a reliable partnership at the back and the duo will be two of the first names on Garry Monk’s list to sign up in January. Forget speculation regarding potential buys from elsewhere, Leeds already have a centre-back pairing capable of competing in the Premier League so it’s crucial Bartley is handed a permanent deal.

Pablo Hernandez

The attacking midfielder is another player who is already at Leeds on loan but again, a permanent deal is likely and would be welcomed by the fans. The 31-year-old has shown creativity and drive for the Championship outfit and after making 12 starts in the Championship already this season, he has proven to be a valuable member of the first team. Leeds are expected to offer him a deal in order to ensure his services which will definitely help Monk’s side reach the play-offs.

In other Leeds news, the club must sign this showman in January.
