Leeds United backed to splash £40m on Ivan Toney amid 'perfect' claim - Campbell
Kevin Campbell has claimed Brentford striker Ivan Toney would be “the perfect fit” for Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton goalscorer “is not surprised” to see that the 26-year-old is attracting the interest of multiple Premier League clubs.
According to inews‘ Mark Douglas (18 July), Brentford are very reluctant to allow Toney to leave the club this summer.
The London club have apparently slapped a price tag of around £40million on the centre-forward, who is said to be of interest to Man United, Newcastle and Leeds.
Jesse March’s side played the majority of last season without a senior centre-forward because of Patrick Bamford’s struggles with injury.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Toney’s future, Campbell said: “Toney hit double figures in his first season in the Premier League.

“I was really impressed. I am not surprised he has been linked with Man United, Newcastle and Leeds. That is not bad company.
“A player of his quality, with his attributes, there are not many of them around. He is unique in a sense.
“When players like him become available, teams see the upside of having a player like him in their team.
“I could see him doing very well at Leeds. He would be perfect for them the way that they play.
“I could see him doing well at Newcastle as well though.”
