Leeds United employee issues 'big' Marc Roca claim after confirmed news
Marc Roca is exactly what Leeds United have been missing, according to Noel Whelan.
The Whites ambassador, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, believes that the 25-year-old will be ‘crucial’ for Leeds next season.
Leeds United announced the signing of Roca last week (17 June) after reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich.
He put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Elland Road.
The midfielder will officially join the Yorkshire club at the beginning of July, in time for the start of preseason.
When asked by Football Insider if Leeds had missed a ball carrying midfielder, Whelan said: “Yes.

“I think you need somebody with that energy, that enthusiasm, that ability to drive the ball 20 or 30 yards.
“I think it’s crucial to have those sorts of players who can relieve pressure from the defence and he looks one of those players.
“Coming from a good stock as well, being at Bayern Munich, the fitness levels are going to be there, the style of play for Jesse Marsch and the players is going to be there as well.
“It gives more options, somebody with a pedigree that can come into the side, into big arenas, big occasions, pressure occasions as well, and someone who can relieve some of the pressure and keep that energy as well.
“I think we’re getting all the pieces in the right areas and we’re ticking boxes where we need.”
