Tottenham are ready to terminate Jack Clarke’s season-long loan at Leeds United, Football Insider has learned.

The Premier League giants signed the winger, 19, for £9.5million rising to £13million in the summer before immediately loaning him back to Leeds.

But Clarke has been frozen out of Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion-chasing side for virtually the entire campaign and Tottenham are ready to act.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the club have made up their minds to activate the mid-season recall clause in Clarke’s loan deal.

They intend to find him a new club, most probably another Championship one, who can offer assurances over the young winger’s game time.

As revealed by Football Insider this week, Middlesbrough and Derby County have joined Fulham in the race to sign Clarke on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Clarke has been a victim of Leeds’ impressive campaign that has placed them top of the Championship table after 21 matches.

The Elland Road academy product has been forced to watch on from the sidelines while Marcelo Bielsa sticks to virtually the same team, making only the odd selection tweak due to injury or suspension.

Clarke has had to make do with just three Leeds appearances this season, two of which have come in the League Cup.

He has not started a league match, with his only involvement in the campaign coming through a 19-minute run out as a substitute.

In the latest Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that a north-west club have opened talks to sign four-assist Whites 24-year-old.
