Leeds United fans have been left fuming after they were linked with a move to sign Man United academy product Hannibal Mejbri.

Reports claimed that Leeds have joined Burnley in their pursuit of the Tunisian midfielder as United are looking to clear out their fringe players before 31 August.

This may have opened the door for Leeds to swoop, as Daniel Farke is targeting a new midfielder after the sales of Glen Kamara and Archie Gray.

However, supporters are less than pleased with the prospect of singing a player from their fierce rivals.

Hannibal had been on the receiving end of abuse from the Leeds crowd when featuring for Man United's Under-21s before giving a bit back - and fans have not forgotten.

Leeds United told to pull out of Hannibal Mejbri interest amid Man United claim

Farke's squad, as things stand, is the smallest in the Championship after losing a number of key players since the transfer window opened.

Alongside Kamara and Gray, Leeds have lost star players in Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, leading to desperate calls for new arrivals to be brought in.

Despite the glaring need for reinforcements in their squad, fans took to social media to implore the club not to sign the midfielder.
