Leeds United have changed transfer plan after 'big news' out of Elland Road - Kenny

The signing of a new midfielder is Leeds United’s priority this summer after Stuart Dallas’ injury blow.

That’s according to former Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s summer plans.

On 6 May, this site revealed Leeds fear Dallas’ injury is so serious he will be out for the whole of next season.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that the injury is worse than first feared and the club’s medical team believe Dallas could be out for as long as 12 months before returning to competitive action.

Kalvin Phillps has also been linked with a move away this summer.

His departure could leave Leeds very light in the midfield and Kenny now claims the Whites will be targetting a new midfielder as a matter of urgency.

“So that’s Dallas out and Phillips maybe on his way, I know what Leeds are looking to sign this summer,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I have been saying for ages that they need to beef out that squad and sign some players to add depth.

“That’s what they will be looking to do now, definitely. Whatever plans they had, they have changed.

“It has to when big news like that happens.”

Dallas has been a key player for the Whites since their return to the Premier League, playing in every single game since their return at the start of last season.

Phillips has missed a large chunk of this season through injury.

In other news, Leeds United have set their sights on signing West Ham destroyer.
