Leeds United have found Patrick Bamford replacement as pundit 'blown away'
Wilfried Gnonto may have replaced Patrick Bamford at Leeds United after being handed his first start for the club.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s recent performances.
After an impressive 45 minutes v Bournemouth the previous weekend (5 November), Gnonto was handed his first Premier league start for Saturday’s (12 November) game against Spurs.
The 19-year-old was taken off at half time but McManus was impressed with what he saw from the youngster and claims Bamford will struggle to get back into Jesse Marsch’s side.
“I like Leeds’ options going forward, I really like Gnonto,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“The few times I have seen him play he has really blown me away. The pace he showed against Bournemouth for that last goal was something else.

“There is plenty of pace and energy there. I wonder if Gnonto now has that place in the team. You look at Bamford and he hasn’t performed.
“There is the injury risk as well, he never seems able to put more than a few games together before he has another knock or whatever it is this time.
“So it’s up to Gnonto now he has that first start, of course he will be disappointed to only get 45 minutes but he played his part, unfortunately for Leeds they couldn’t hold on and get anything from that game.”
Bamford has made 10 appearances for Leeds this season but only four of those have been starts.
He has failed to score in those outings.
