Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Rangers central midfielder Glen Kamara, Football Insider understands.

Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard has revealed he is braced for major offers for the 24-year-old when the January window opens.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Kamara is on the club's radar and talent spotters were at Ibrox to watch him in action in last Thursday's memorable 2-0 Europa League triumph over Porto.

The Finland international enhanced his reputation with an outstanding performance as Rangers secured the win that keeps them on course for the Europa League knockout stages.

Leeds are looking at Kamara as a target more for next summer than in January, when they will only look to sign new players if any of their loan stars are recalled.

Rangers signed the Arsenal academy product for a bargain £50,000 in January of this year as he ran down his contract at Dundee.

He is now valued at more than £8million by the Glasgow giants.

Kamara has reignited his career in Scotland after being release by the Premier League giants in 2017 after making just one appearance for them.

He has firmly established himself as a key player in Rangers' midfield along with veteran Steven Davis and Scotland international Ryan Jack.

Kamara's industry, mobility and distribution have been integral to the Ibrox resurgence that has rocketed the team to level on points with table toppers after 12 SPL matches.

He has made 20 appearances for Gerrard's side this season, and 36 in total for the club since his arrival.
