Leeds United are working on a deal to sign Club Brugge sensation Noa Lang after holding new talks, Football Insider understands.

United identified the 22-year-old as a top attacking target last summer but eventually landed Daniel James from Man United in a £25million-plus deadline day deal.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leeds are continuing to track Lang and have laid the groundwork for a big-money summer move.

The Dutch attacker has made it privately clear to Brugge he wants to leave this summer and is being tracked by elite clubs across Europe.

Those include Leeds as well as AC Milan, and both clubs have been keeping close tabs on him this season.

Leeds believe they are well placed to make a move, but their hopes of luring him from Belgium depend upon them being in next season's Premier League.

The Yorkshire giants have held preliminary talks with the player's camp to register their interest.

But they are aware that Lang is only interested in a move to an elite league as he looks to take his career to the next level.

The versatile forward, who can play out wide as well as down the middle, has followed up his impressive 2020-21 form with an electrifying campaign in which he has been capped by Holland for the first time.

His 46 Brugge appearances in all competitions have yielded nine goals and 14 assists, and he started all six of his club's pre-Christmas Champions League matches.

Lang completed a permanent move from Ajax for around £6million last summer after spending the previous campaign on loan.
