Leeds United will be able to complete the permanent signing of Jack Harrison at the end of July if the Premier League clubs vote in favour of a new transfer window proposal on Thursday.

The Yorkshire giants have an option in the Man City winger’s loan contract to sign him permanently when the window opens.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that the deal is “very likely” to go ahead if Leeds get promoted to the Premier League.

The Championship giants are top of the league and hot favourites to secure automatic promotion and end their 16-year spell in the lower leagues.

A Premier League source has told Football Insider that a proposal that will be voted on at their next shareholders meeting on Thursday is for the window to open on 27 July and close on 5/6 October.

Harrison, 23, has two years remaining on his City contract but is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans and has admitted he would like to sign permanently for United.

His second consecutive season-long loan has been extended until the Championship season finishes.

If they go up, Leeds are then expected to hold talks with City after signing the left-winger permanently.

United have made provisions for Harrison to join full-time, with a permanent option included in his loan contract.

Details of the clause, which can be triggered at the end of this campaign, were first revealed by Football Insider shortly after last summer’s transfer window had shut.

Marcelo Bielsa has showed immense faith in the young attacker during his reign and is in no doubt he has the capabilities of being a potent Premier League performer in the future.

At Leeds, he has remarkably started all 41 of their Championship games this season, scoring six goals as well as supplying eight assists.
