Kieran Maguire cites £50m deal as 'flying' Leeds land new recruit
Leeds United must look to the example of Ben White to see how the loan system can bring in big profits.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Leeds’ reported new loan manager Andrew Taylor.
Leeds Live claimed on 3rd August that Taylor, 34, has left his role at Sunderland to take the post at Elland Road.
White, a former Leeds loanee, signed for Arsenal from Brighton last week in a reported £50million deal.
Leeds have already sent out Mateusz Bogusz and Kiko Casilla out on loan this summer.
And University of Liverpool finance lecturer Maguire insists that the system can be a big revenue driver when employed properly.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I think the loan system can be a good earner in terms of money potentially saved.
“I’ve taught a couple of loans managers and I’ve been really impressed. They are very dedicated to the welfare of these young men.
“That can monetise itself and you only have to look at Chelsea to see that. They sell all of these players who would be nowhere near the first team.
“Leeds are flying at the moment because of the Bielsa effect. Club are therefore always keen to recruit from Leeds and willing to pay a loan fee.
“If you have a good loans manager monitoring the player, there is the opportunity to bring that player back.
“He can then be fighting for a first-team place and then that can save you a signing. After that, you can put him in the shop window. Just look at Ben White.“
