Kieran Maguire: Leeds United to rocket past £20m as 'outstanding' details revealed
Leeds United will generate even more merchandising income this year than the “outstanding” £20.3million they raked in during 2020-21.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Whites’ latest set of annual accounts.
Leeds showcased their commercial success in the document posted to Companies House on Wednesday (6 April).
They earned £15m from other commercial sources on top of £20.3m from merchandise sales, with total revenue equalling £171m.
And £25.9m of that figure was profit, making them only the second Premier League side to have posted a surplus for 2020-21.
The 2020-21 campaign was Leeds’ first in the top-flight for 16 years, and they embarked on new deals with Adidas and SBOTOP after promotion.

Maguire predicts that, with things returning to normal after the pandemic, Leeds will boast even more impressive numbers in their next accounts.
“These are very encouraging figures,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“They had no matchday income or catering income, which together I would expect to be the thick end of £25m.
“When they get matchday income back, it gives them the opportunity to grow. Commercial revenue will only grow as well.
“For me, the outstanding figure was merchandise. To sell £20m worth of merchandise during Covid is indicative of the strength of the fanbase.”
Leeds finished 9th in the Premier League last season.
They are 16th in this season’s standings after a 3-0 victory over Watford yesterday (9 April).
