Leeds United will back Daniel Farke with the funds to sign a new striker in January amid links with Sunderland's Eliezer Mayenda, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed a move for Mayenda, 19, is unlikely with Sunderland unwilling to strengthen a potential promotion rival.

Daniel Farke's side have managed to secure two consecutive 2-0 wins over fellow Yorkshire sides Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City following a frustrating start to life back in the Championship.
