Leeds United set sights on new goalkeeper signing, one deal is close
Dmytro Riznyk is on the radar of Leeds United ahead of the summer window as Daniel Farke aims to add a new first-choice goalkeeper to his squad.
Karl Darlow has become Farke’s number one keeper in the second half of the season following a string of poor performances from summer signing Lucas Perri.
Leeds are planning to offer Darlow a new contract, but do want to add another keeper to Farke’s ranks in place of Perri and the departing Illan Meslier.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Shakhtar Donetsk stopper Riznyk is of interest to the Whites.
Leeds’ transfer plans are due to ramp up when the season ends as they aim to add quality and depth to aid a push up the table next season.

Riznyk recently insisted that he knows nothing of any interest in his services from Leeds after links emerged last month.
The 27-year-old has helped Shakhtar cruise to the Ukrainian Premier League title this season, while they also reached the Conference League semi-finals before being beaten by Crystal Palace.
| Season | Appearances | Goals conceded | Clean sheets |
| 2025-26 | 41 | 32 | 22 |
| 2024-25 | 36 | 35 | 15 |
| 2023-24 | 39 | 40 | 17 |
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Riznyk has done well for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, helped them win the league. I think he kept 22 clean sheets, so he has really impressed for the Ukrainian club.
“The player himself has played down the suggestions of a move to Leeds, he says he’s heard nothing of the reported interest in him.
“But look, I’m sure Leeds will be doing their homework on a number of goalkeepers. It’s going to be an area of the team they’re going to have to strengthen.”
Leeds accelerating Karl Darlow talks after impressive stint
Perri’s downfall has allowed Darlow to become an unlikely hero at Elland Road this season, with a run of games in the starting eleven at 35-years-old.
The Wales international stopper has kept five clean sheets and conceded 24 goals in 21 league games this season, but is nearing the end of his initial three-year contract with Leeds.
He is keen to sign a new deal, and sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Leeds are set to offer fresh terms to Darlow in the coming weeks.
It remains to be seen if Perri is sold this summer, with Riznyk likely to arrive as the Whites’ new number one ahead of the Brazilian and Darlow if they seal his services.
