Leeds tipped to complete 'bargain' deal after Orta reveal - Pundit

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United to complete a “bargain” signing before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward admitted he was surprised the Whites have not done more business this summer.

Leeds have only added Junior Firpo and Kristoffer Klaesson to the squad that finished ninth in the Premier League last season.

Meanwhile, Jack Harrison has finally signed a permanent deal with the club after spending the last three seasons on loan from Man City.

Victor Orta told the Phil Hay Show back in May he wanted to finish his transfer business before pre-season got underway.

Firpo arrived just before Marcelo Bielsa began his extensive pre-season regime while Klaesson signed last week.

The Yorkshire giants have now turned their attention to bolstering their midfield ranks.

Football Insider learned on 31 July Lewis O’Brien is keen to sign from Huddersfield Town as Leeds opened talks over a potential deal.

Asked for his assessment of Leeds’ transfer window given Orta’s comments, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “You would have thought they may have got more business done.

“Maybe they and other teams are waiting until the transfer window is done like normal, to get a bargain.

“You don’t know what they’re thinking but normally teams have got their business done sooner, definitely.”

Last summer, Leeds completed their best signing of the window on deadline day when they paid a £17million fee to Rennes for Raphinha.

They also added three more players on permanent deals to the squad that won the 2019-20 Championship title.
