Leeds United tipped to spend 'serious money' this summer amid '£100m' claim - expert

Leeds United will spend “serious money” this summer in a bid to avoid another disappointing season.

That’s the view of ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former side’s summer plans.

Speaking on TalkSPORT (26 April), Simon Jordan suggested Leeds could invest £100million into the playing squad this summer.

Kenny insists the Whites will invest this summer as the club looks to fix the problems that have blighted them this season.

“Leeds should have invested in January,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That’s why they have ended up in this position. They had key players out and didn’t replace them.

“That’s not a problem that is going to go away next season, players will get injured.

“They have no strength in depth so as soon as they had a couple of injuries you were left with half a team.

“Leeds have to fix that in the summer and we know they have the money to do that.

“There has been investment, we just haven’t seen it yet. No doubt Jesse Marsch will want to move a few players on and put his own stamp on this team.

“If they have real intentions on getting back up that table then you can see them spending serious money this summer because they won’t want another season like this.”

Leeds are next in action against Man City on Saturday (23 April).

They currently lie 16th in the league, five points off the relegation zone.
