Julian Brandt to Leeds: Daniel Farke in 'training ground' charm offensive to get deal over the line

Leeds United are pushing to agree terms with Julian Brandt despite growing interest from a number of rival clubs across Europe.

The 30-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Borussia Dortmund last month, and his availability has placed a number of top European clubs on high alert.

Leeds are now pulling out all the stops to convince him to join following a visit to their Thorp Arch training ground and a face-to-face meeting with Daniel Farke.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds are now determined to agree terms with Brandt despite rival moves elsewhere.

An offer from Leeds is believed to be on the table for the midfielder, but he is taking his time to weigh up multiple options, leading to some anxiety at Elland Road.

However, Farke and the recruitment team are hopeful they have done enough to convince Brandt to make the move and become a key part of their ambitious plans.

Will Julian Brandt complete a move to Leeds United?

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 21 July that Leeds are leading the race to sign Brandt and have forced themselves to the front of the queue.

His experience both in the Bundesliga and on the international stage has inspired interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but Leeds have been working hard to agree terms.

Farke has outlined the midfielder's role in his plans, and the direction the club hopes to head in, and they are now waiting for a final decision with their fingers crossed.

"Brandt is available on a free transfer, which is why Leeds want to do a deal," Brown told Football Insider.

"It's a good opportunity for them to bring in an experienced player, both in Germany and internationally, to add a bit of quality and depth to their squad in an important position.

"The problem they have now is that, for those same reasons, there are obviously other clubs looking to tempt him and they've given him a decision to make.

"As you say, he was invited to Leeds' training ground, he had a look around, he met with the manager and the club's plans for him were outlined.

"Leeds have really been pushing to get it done, because all of this work has gone towards signing him, and they are determined not to lose out to one of the other clubs.

"So they're trying to push things in the right direction and they hope he will decide a move to Leeds is his best option, but it will be difficult.

"In my experience, whenever a player really needs convincing of a move, it means they probably have better offers or they're waiting for those better offers to come in.

"But from Leeds' point of view, they hope they will have done enough to tempt him to join them rather than the other clubs mentioned."

Which other clubs are interested in signing Brandt?

Leeds' desparation to convince Brandt of a move to Elland Road comes amid growing interest from a number of European rivals, with clubs placed on alert by his availability.

The 30-year-old has been sign as an ambitious target for Farke's side, and they are well aware they could miss out despite working hard to reach an agreement.

This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds will find it difficult to win the race for Brandt amid rival interest from the likes of Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Roma.

Offers of European football, both in the Europa League and Champions League, are likely to be on the table and could lure the midfielder away from Leeds' grasp.

However, Leeds remain in line for his signature and are hopeful of convincing him with their ambitious plans for the future and his role in those plans.
