Leeds plan to sell Pascal Struijk if no contract breakthrough soon
Leeds want to keep hold of Pascal Struijk but will be forced to accept an offer for him if he does not sign a new contract extension this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Struijk has been one of the Whites' most consistent players in recent years, but is out of contract in the summer of 2027.
Several fellow Premier League sides have linked with a move for the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
Leeds have held talks with his camp around a new deal, but he is yet to sign amid uncertainty around his future.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Whites are set to sell the Dutchman before next season starts if he does not pen fresh terms.
Daniel Farke is plotting a defensive overhaul, with several top targets linked, but remains keen to see Struijk sign a new contract.
He is still set to command a sizeable fee despite having one year left on his deal, with a decision set to made soon on what happens next.
Pascal Struijk could leave Leeds this summer amid contract uncertainty
Struijk helped the Whites avoid relegation in his eighth season at the club, with 37 appearances across all competitions as they also made the FA Cup semi-final.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Leeds have got a decision to make on Pascal Struijk's long-term future. He’s going into the final year of his contract, if no new deal can be agreed, this will be their final big opportunity to maybe cash in on Struijk and make some money on him.
"A lot will depend, I think, on what Leeds do defensively, and if they do bring in reinforcements, which we do expect them to do as they're being linked with a number of players.
"But I don't think they'll be rushing Struijk out the door right now, because he is the only left-sided centre half at Elland Road."
Which clubs have been linked with a move for Struijk?
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Aston Villa are keen on Struijk and could bid to sign him this summer.
Unai Emery wants to bolster his defensive options as the Villans return to the Champions League, with Struijk's versatility making him a top target.
Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, with the Whites keen on Ousmane Diomande as they line up a possible replacement signing.
