Leeds United could potentially be smiling all the way to the bank in the coming years as Manchester City get ready to sign Elliot Anderson for a record transfer fee.

The Cityzens are reportedly expected to sign the Nottingham Forest midfielder for close to £125million, which is the same as Liverpool spent on Alexander Isak last summer.

If the potential figures for the England international are anything to go by, the West Yorkshire outfit may soon be in line for a hefty profit.

Ethan Ampadu recently extended his contract at Elland Road until 2030 and 49ers Enterprises will surely see the fee being spent on Anderson as an indicator of what they could ask for the Wales international.

The 25-year-old has found his feet at the Whites after struggling to make a mark at Chelsea, and if the defensive-midfielder continues to perform at the highest level in the Premier League, top clubs will undoubtedly be lining up for his signature.

With the Welshman's career going on an upward trajectory under Daniel Farke, the Peacocks will surely expect to make a hefty profit off him.

Leeds United may benefit from Premier League inflation

Premier League clubs are concerned that Anderson's blockbuster move to Man City will inflate the market this summer.

There are fears that future fees for stars will now be in line with the valuation Forest have placed on the 23-year-old.

According to The Telegraph on 14 June, one industry insider believes the market will become more difficult, as Anderson's move will affect how much clubs ask for their players.

Leeds signed Ampadu for a £10million package deal in 2023 and he has now established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the English top flight.

Daniel Farke plans for Elland Road future without Ethan Ampadu

Football Insider transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed on 12 June that Farke is eyeing several young midfielders at Leeds who can turn into future stars.

It feels like the Whites are already preparing for Ampadu's eventual departure and hope to have a replacement for him in the squad.

For now, it doesn't look like the Welsh midfielder is going anywhere after signing a new deal, but it remains to be seen how his situation develops in the near future.
