Joe Rodon failed to impress during his time at Tottenham, but the Leeds United defender has a chance to finally win the love of the supporters.

The Welshman finally parted ways with the Lilywhites in the summer of 2024, having spent the previous season on loan at Elland Road, where he quickly became a fan favourite.

Despite a rollercoaster few weeks for the centre-half recently, he remains one of Daniel Farke's most valued players, and Football Insider understands that Leeds have no plans to sell Rodon this summer.

With that being said, the 28-year-old still has a chance to impress some big Premier League teams, as West Ham prepare to welcome Leeds to the London Stadium on Sunday, 24 May.

Joe Rodon has the chance to save Tottenham from relegation

The Premier League relegation battle comes right down to the wire, with Tottenham and West Ham battling it out to remain in England's top flight after the season from hell for both sides.

While Roberto De Zerbi's side host Everton this weekend, the Hammers have the tricky task of claiming all three points against the Whites, and even then, safety isn't a guarantee.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are two points behind heading into the final matchweek. Even if his team do come out with a win, Spurs simply need a draw to keep themselves from dropping to the Championship.

Therefore, Rodon could play a huge role in Tottenham staying in the Premier League this season, and the fans of his former club will be forever in his debt if he can lead the Whites to a positive result.

Leeds United defender could be playing for Premier League move

It has been a fantastic second half to the 2025-26 campaign for Leeds, moving up to 14th in the Premier League table before the final game of the season.

Farke's side have lost just one of their last 11 matches across all competitions, and Rodon has played a huge part in that, becoming a defensive rock since his arrival at Elland Road.

Surrounding clubs are clearly impressed, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Premier League teams are lining up a move for Rodon. Leeds remain confident that he'll stay, though.

Weirder things have happened in football, however. Rodon could use this final game of the season to seriously impress a potential next club and be Spurs' hero in the process.
