Leeds United are working on using the funds from Joel Piroe's expected exit to bolster their squad with multiple new signings, sources have told Football Insider.

The Dutchman is "advancing" towards a move to join West Ham United, with the two clubs still locked in discussions over a deal for the striker.

The Hammers have already seen a £15million offer for the 27-year-old rejected, with Leeds reportedly now holding out for £20m.

West Ham are hoping to seal a loan deal with an obligation to buy, and while Leeds are hoping for a straight sale, they are willing to compromise if a loan is the only way.

However, Daniel Farke and Co. are hoping to get cash up front for the out-of-favour star, to enable them to make moves of their own before the 1 September deadline.

The Whites have only welcomed three new faces into their squad so far this summer, but are keen to add further quality before the deadline.

Joel Piroe into his final days at Leeds

Piroe has fallen well down the pecking order at Elland Road in recent months, having found opportunities hard to come by in the Premier League last term.

The frontman was the hero of the West Yorkshire outfit's promotion campaign back in 2024-25, and he is now rapidly closing in on a return to the Championship.

His potential move to West Ham has progressed dramatically in recent days, with the capital club working to boost their attack in a bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Piroe is keen to make the move happen, given the clear indication from Farke that his game time will be extremely limited if he stays at Elland Road.

He now appears to be entering his final days as a Leeds player as a result, with all parties keen to find a way to get his move to the London Stadium over the line.

Piroe notched 19 goals and seven assists during his last campaign in the Championship, and is a proven goalscorer in the second tier.

Bilal El Khannouss to Leeds update as Daniel Farke eyes 'ambitious' plan

Daniel Farke's 'ambitious' Bilal El Khannouss plan

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last week that Leeds are unlikely to make a return move for Stuttgart star Bilal El Khannouss.

The Morocco international is pushing to leave Stuttgart this summer, with the Bundesliga side holding out for a fee of £40m for their star.

However, Brown believes that Farke and Co. now have their eyes on more "ambitious" targets, and believe that they can potentially secure someone with more proven quality than El Khannouss.

The Whites are still working on their targets in the final weeks of the window, and have their eyes set on some big additions.
