Leicester City are at risk of facing two points deductions in one season after a £40million breach in 2022-23 and a potential second breach in 2023-24.

That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Foxes are at risk of another breach following their Championship-winning campaign.

Leicester were charged back in March for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules in 2022-23 - their last season in the Premier League.

The club announced a loss of £90million for the 2022-23 accounting period which put the club over the £105million allowable losses.

Leicester now face a points deduction this summer meaning they could start the 2024-25 Premier League campaign on negative points.

Leicester could face back-to-back points deductions after £40m breach

Borson explained that they are also at risk of breaching the rules again meaning they could face a second points deduction.

"In terms of Leicester City’s case, their breach is likely to be around £35-£40million," Borson told Football Insider's James Murray.

"But their problems don't end there, of course, because they've also got an issue for this season.

"It is also likely that they will have breached in the 2023-24 period as well.

"So that will probably mean that they are facing two points deductions in the next season."
