Exclusive: Leicester react to London club approach to sign wide man in January

Leicester City have rejected Fulham’s approach to sign James Justin in January, Football Insider understands.

As revealed by Football Insider, the Championship promotion hopefuls have asked about taking the right-back, 21, on loan for the second half of the season when the transfer window reopens next month.

A Leicester source has told Football Insider that the club ave no plans to loan out Justin and want him to continue to be a member of Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad.

It means Craven Cottage boss Scott Parker will have to look elsewhere as he looks to strengthen his full-back options after Christmas.

Leicester have high hopes for Justin, who has been forced to play second fiddle to first choice right-back Ricardo Pereira since his arrival as the club’s first signing of the summer window for an initial £7million rising to a potential £10m with add-ons.

The wide defender has made only two starts for Leicester with both of those coming in the League Cup.

Justin has been an ever-present on the bench in the Premier League, but he has yet to make his top-flight debut with Leicester flying high at the top end of the table.

Portugal international Pereira has started all 14 league games for the high-flying Foxes and is expected to do so once again in tonight’s fixture against Watford.

Justin, who can play at left-back or right-back, was named in the League One Team of the Year following his impressive displays at Luton last season which ended with promotion.

In other Leicester City news, it can be REVEALED that Kolo Toure is urging Rodgers to sign Celtic rising star who’s ‘blown him away’.
