Leicester City have promoted whizzkid Dennis Gyamfi to first-team training amid Arsenal interest, Football Insider can reveal.

The London giants are among a number of top clubs keeping close tabs on the right-back, 18, ahead of his Foxes deal expiring next month.

A Leicester source has told Football Insider that Brendan Rodgers has been impressed by the development of Gyamfi since training restarted and he has stepped up to join the senior squad for the first time.

The Holland youth international has been targeted by Arsenal as they plot a summer deal.

Gyamfi will be a free agent from 1 July when his scholarship contract is due to expire.

Leicester would be due a fee for the youngster, however, as compensation for the teenager's development costs over the last two years.

Gyamfi, who is of Ghanaian descent and has been capped by Holland at Under-19 level, joined the Premier League high flyers on a scholarship agreement in 2018.

He has played predominantly for Leicester Under-18s - 27 times in total - and made his Under-23 debut in Premier League 2 in January.

Gyamfi's path to the Leicester first team is blocked by Ricardo Pereira, widely regarded as one of the outstanding right-backs in the Premier League.

The Foxes also signed James Justin from Luton Town last summer for a fee of around £8million after beating off rival top-flight interest.

In other Leicester City news, it can be REVEALED that the club have submitted a mega offer to Premier League midfielder.
