Patson Daka could quite easily be labelled as Leicester City's scapegoat after the Foxes' relegation to League One was confirmed on Tuesday.

Hull City, who are pushing for a Championship play-off spot this season, stole a precious point at the King Power on 21 April, and the 2-2 result had huge repercussions at both ends of the table.

Of course, it meant far more to the Foxes, who, a decade ago, were about to lift the Premier League trophy in bizarre circumstances. Fast-forward to 2026, and supporters are just as speechless.

Very few players can hold their heads high following Leicester's relegation from the Championship, but Daka has really shown why so many are critical of him in the final third, with a dire, frustrating display.

Leicester City likely beat Hull City with a clinical forward

Leicester also needed a controversial penalty to get back into the game, with Abdul Fatawu being accused of diving when coming up against Lewis Koumas inside the 18-yard box.

But at least the young winger showed some initiative and determination, while the Foxes' striker missed multiple big chances, failed to hit the target once, and caused more chaos for his teammates than anything else.

With Jordan Ayew coming on in the 90th minute, Gary Rowett is likely already facing some huge questions behind the scenes, especially given Daka's overall performance.

How he was allowed to stay on the pitch for so long will confuse the majority of supporters, but the overall feeling right now will be sadness, anger, and disappointment.

The Foxes are now likely to face a mass exodus

With the Foxes now facing back-to-back relegations, it remains to be seen exactly how owner Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha is going to fund the club's demise ahead of next season.

Football Insider understands that Fatawu would jump at a Premier League move, and he's unlikely to be the only player already eyeing a move away from the King Power as soon as the window opens.

Olabade Aluko continues to be linked with a big Premier League move, while the likes of Stephy Mavididi and Oliver Skipp won't want to be playing League One football next season.

A mass exodus is likely on the cards for Leicester, and the club only have themselves to blame. That won't come as a surprise, though, with the supporters making their feelings known for months.
