'Lennon is Right' - Exclusive: Campbell reacts to shock Celtic development
Celtic manger Neil Lennon “was right to come out firing” at a press conference yesterday despite seemingly contradicting the club’s position on their recent trip to Dubai.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 49-year-old’s interview ahead of the trip to Livingston.
Lennon stunned listeners when he ripped into the Scottish government, the media and ex-players on Monday over their handling of the club’s controversial trip mid-season to Dubai.
The Hoops manager claimed there is “an agenda being driven” against his club who are being held “to a much higher account” than any other.
His comments appeared to contradict the interview given by Peter Lawwell last week, in which the Celtic chief executive said the trip to Dubai was a “mistake”.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest developments at Parkhead, Campbell said: “These things are all planned out.

“I do not know what all of the hullabaloo is about, I really don’t.
“The club have come out with a statement and it seems to me as if they have come out with a statement without consulting Neil Lennon beforehand.
“When you see a discrepancy in the manager’s comments and the club’s, that says to me that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.
“Neil Lennon is right to come out firing though, it is something that you do as a team and a club.
“They have done it before and they will do it again. It is just unfortunate what has happened.”
