'Let's bring the title home' - Rangers fans react to forward signing

By Harvey Byrne

Rangers announced the signing of wide forward Daniel Candeias on Sunday afternoon from Portuguese giants Benfica – and the club’s supporters were delighted on Twitter.

The Ibrox giants confirmed on their official website that the 29-year-old had moved to Glasgow on a two-year deal.

He has become the fifth signing for March appointment Pedro Caixinha in his first window at the club, following Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio.

The Portuguese boss is also favouring players from his home country and Candeias marks the fourth Portugal national to make the switch to Scotland this summer.

The experienced attacker previously worked with Caixinha at Nacional, which is where the right-winger attracted Benfica in to signing him.

He did however fail to make a single first team appearance for the club with his time at Benfica spent mostly out on loan.

However, Gers fans are still excited to see what Candeias can bring to Scotland and many are optimistic that he can help them challenge for the title once more.

Rangers fans will now be hoping for further announcements on more incomings this summer as Caixinha looks to improve the club’s third placing alongside competing in the Europa League.
