Lewie Coyle has congratulated Liam Kitching after he was called up to the Leeds United first-team for Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash with Newport County.
Although Kitching, 18, failed to make his professional debut off the bench as Leeds slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Rodney Parade, the young defender posted on his personal Twitter account that he was “honoured” to have been called up by Thomas Christiansen to take part.
However the Elland Road emerging talent did admit he was “disappointed” with the result.

Coyle, 22, is a very popular figure among Leeds fans and many have been calling for Thomas Christiansen to recall the left-back from his loan spell at League One side Fleetwood.
The full-back sent a message to Kitching on his personal Twitter account in response to the teenager’s tweet.
“Good lad Kitch! Well done mate! Hard work pays off. Hope you’re well,” Coyle said.

For Fleetwood this term, Coyle has made 27 appearances across all competitions, supplying five assists in the process.
Coyle has developed as a right-back at Leeds but in League One, the Hull-born flyer has been used mainly on the right wing and as a result has earned countless man of the match awards with Fleetwood.
The chances of Leeds recalling Coyle are perhaps slim though, as Christiansen has a number of options at right-back and on the right-wing, even though mainstay Luke Ayling has recently suffered an injury setback.
In other Leeds United news, this left-sided flyer is due to have a medical with United within the coming hours.
