Liam Rosenior compares wonderkid on radar of Everton to Dele Alli

By Matt Farr

Brighton full-back Liam Rosenior has named Ademola Lookman as the Championship’s best young player of 2016.

Lookman, who has emerged as one of Everton’s primary January targets, has been in blistering form for Charlton this season, contributing seven goals and two assists from 25 appearances for the League One outfit.

Rosenior, who watched Lookman set the Championship alight before Charlton’s relegation last season, praised the youngster and claims he could have the same impact that Dele Alli has had at Tottenham.

He told the Sun that the 19-year-old has the potential and quality to follow in the footsteps of Alli, and make a name for himself in the Premier League – should he join Everton, or another top-flight side.

Rosenior said: “Ademola Lookman has impressed me with his ability and temperament.

“Blessed with electric pace and skill, I’m not surprised to see him linked with Everton. He could make a similar impact to Dele Alli at Spurs.”

Alli moved to Tottenham from MK Dons just a year ago, but has already established himself as a regular for both Spurs and England, whilst also becoming one of the top footballers in the Premier League.

The England international is still just 20-years-old, and if he continues on his current path, could easily become one of the best in Europe.

This season, Alli has contributed seven goals and four assists from 23 appearances in all competitions, following  a 10-goal haul in his debut campaign at White Hart Lane.

Ronald Koeman has already gone public with his desire to bring Ademola Lookman to Everton next month, with the Independent reporting that the club had identified the England youth international as a replacement for the injured Yannick Bolasie – who is out for the remainder of the season.

The former Southampton boss named Lookman as one of his main January transfer targets, and was later quoted as saying “there is interest in the boy, yes.”

In other Everton transfer news, the Toffees have opened talks with AC Milan over a potential deal for this player.
