Liel Abada backed to agree deal after Sky update - Celtic idol
Frank McAvennie has told Celtic to secure a long-term contract extension for Liel Abada.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker insisted the Glasgow club need to hold on to the 21-year-old.
As shown on the SPFL Youtube channel (5 November), Abada found the back of the net against Dundee United to secure a 4-2 victory for the Celts.
According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas (1 November), the Green and Whites bosses are keen to reward the Israeli for his fine form this season.
Abada is currently under contract at Parkhead until 2026 but is said to be in discussions with the club over a new five-year deal, tying him down until 2027.
Celtic believe the winger will be an integral part of the squad for years to come and are keen to try and put off the Premier League clubs tracking his progress.

McAvennie insisted the Glasgow giants need to hold on to Abada.
“Abada is young, he has got a lot of time,” he told Football Insider.
“He is progressing and getting better everyday. He looked good against Real Madrid last week. He was fearless, getting the ball and wanting to run at people.
“I think he is a good one to keep hold of. For me, he will definitely sign a new contract.“
Abada has made 20 appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season.
In those outings he has scored nine goals and provided two assists.
