Like replacing Rottweilers with a pair of Poodles - Piers Morgan destroys Arsenal duo
By Abigail Withey
Journalist and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has criticised midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka after their heavy 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Arsenal were dominated by Jurgen Klopp’s side as the Reds’ attacking superstars Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge each snatched a goal for their club.
Boss Arsene Wenger came under even heavier scrutiny than usual after they failed to match the prowess of Liverpool, but Piers Morgan opted to single out the squad’s midfield pair.
The outspoken journalist reminisced about former Gunners’ Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit and compared the legends with the likes of Ramsey and Xhaka.
Morgan stated on his official Twitter account that it was like Wenger had replaced “two Rottweilers with a pair of Poodles.”
Once we had Vieira & Petit running our midfield.
Now we have Ramsey & Xhaka.

Arsenal began their Premier League campaign with an eventful yet promising 4-3 victory over former champions Leicester City, but after earning three points the club have failed to gain any more.
The Gunners then continued to lose 1-0 to Stoke City before their huge defeat at Anfield over the previous weekend.
Wenger would’ve been expecting a better start to the season after forking out around £50 million for Lyon goal-machine Alexandre Lacazette as well as securing Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer.
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League table last season which meant they had to give away their Champions League spot, and their start to the season doesn’t give a strong indication that they are going to win it back.
In other Arsenal news, the club has confirmed that one of their midfielders has left the Gunners.
