It is understood that the France internatonal will now have his medical with Liverpool ahead of a move today (Friday), as a switch to Anfield grows ever closer.
Football Insider verdict:
Fekir is a brilliant playmaker that is on the verge of joining Liverpool and he would be a great addition to the Premier League. The dazzling left-footed ace usually plays in the number 10 role and he managed 23 goals in 40 appearances for Lyon this season. He has been included in France’s 23-man strong World Cup squad and is an extremely highly-rated talent. Jurgen Klopp’s side are showing they mean business this summer and could have a complete new-look midfield going into the 2018/19 campaign. Powerhouse duo Fabinho and Naby Keita have already secured moves to Liverpool, which just shows the intent they have to achieve big things next season. They still need to address their problems at the back, especially the dark cloud over the goalkeeping position. However, Fekir will be another excellent signing for Liverpool if the deal goes over the line and many will see him as a like-for-like replacement for Philippe Cotuinho.
