Liverpool backed to complete Dybala signing as 1 January talks on the cards - pundit

Paulo Dybala can add “another edge” to the Liverpool squad, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the “quality” 28-year-old can “unlock defences” in the Premier League.

According to Calciomercato (6 December), Liverpool are keeping tabs on the contract situation of Dybala and an Anfield source has confirmed to this site he is on their radar.

The Argentina international’s contract expires at the end of this season, meaning he is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the Merseyside club on 1 January.

Campbell insisted Dybala’s arrival would allow Jurgen Klopp to employ a different approach against teams who “sit back” against the Reds.

“He’s a top quality player,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“He can add something different to that Liverpool squad. He’s able to operate in such tight spaces, so he’d be very well suited to the Premier League, for me.

“I think he would add another edge to that Liverpool side.

They would be able to play a different style when teams sit back, because they’ll have someone in their side who can really unlock defences and make things happen. Right now, they’re relying on the counter-attack.”

Dybala has netted 108 goals in 269 games for Juventus – eight of those goals have come this season despite his injury struggles.

Liverpool currently sit second in the Premier League table and just one point adrift of leaders Man City.
