Liverpool backed to complete 'outstanding' Joshua Kimmich deal - pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Joshua Kimmich is exactly the kind of player Liverpool need to rebuild their midfield.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender doesn’t see Kimmich leaving Bayern Munich any time soon.

According to Spanish outlet Marca (19 May), Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in signing the 28-year-old this summer.

The German club are looking for at least £52million to part ways with the midfielder and are unlikely to lower their asking price.

Kimmich’s current contract runs until 2025 after joining from Stuttgart almost eight years ago.

Hutton insisted the addition of the German international would be incredible for the Reds.

Wow, I think it would be an amazing signing for Liverpool,” he told Football Insider.

At 28 he has still got a lot of football left in him, he is an outstanding football player but I can’t see him leaving where he is if I am honest.

I think it would be a really good signing for Liverpool and I think that is the kind of player they need to rebuild the midfield but I do not see it happening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to add reinforcements to their midfield this summer as they begin a massive overhaul of their squad.

The Merseysiders have been closing in on an agreement with Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

The Reds have also shown an interest in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea if the Blues opt to sell this summer.

In other news, Liverpool have ‘concrete’ interest in signing star with same agent as Darwin Nunez.
