Liverpool backed to sign Jude Bellingham and his England teammate by pundit - 'I've been told'
Frank McAvennie has backed Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice next summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said signing two players like Bellingham and Rice would be “different class”.
According to The Athletic‘s Jay Harris (11 September), the Reds and Real Madrid are competing to sign the 19-year-old next year.
On 27 August, sources told this site that Jurgen Klopp’s side have held extensive talks over a deal for the midfielder for next year.
The midfielder currently has three years remaining on his Dortmund contract.
Rice has two years left on his deal at the London Stadium that includes the option of a further year.

In April, sources told this site that Rice was a top target for Klopp during the summer transfer window, but a deal failed to materialise.
McAvennie claimed the Anfield club will be trying to sign Rice again next summer.
“From what I hear the two players they want are Bellingham and Declan Rice, that’s what I’ve been told,” he told Football Insider.
“Two players like that would be different class for Liverpool because I think the legs are going. [James] Milner can’t go on forever. No matter how much he wants to. [Jordan] Henderson, he pulls all the strings but he’s getting injured more and more. Harvey Elliott is a good one for the future but not now.
“Could they compete with Real Madrid for Bellingham? Yeah of course they could. It just depends on what Bellingham wants. Does he want to come back to the best league in the world? I think that’ll be the draw for him. If he goes there and doesn’t get games for England then there’s something wrong with Gareth.“
